GPX Racing
Based in the United Arab Emirates and founded by Frédéric Fatien as part of the GP Extreme Group, GPX Racing has rapidly established itself as a powerhouse in the world of international GT endurance racing.
Photographing the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) Kyalami 9 Hour is always a grueling test of endurance, but training my lens on GPX Racing added a whole new level of intensity to the assignment. The 9-hour event pushes everyone to the absolute limit, rapidly transitioning from the blistering heat of the South African sun to torrential highveld thunderstorms, and finally into the pitch-black night stints. My goal was to capture the sheer mechanical resilience of GPX Racing’s Porsche 911 GT3 R as it battled through an elite, world-class GT field. Navigating the chaotic pit lane during high-stakes driver changes and hunting down the perfect vantage points around Kyalami’s undulating 4.5km circuit, I documented the raw speed, the glowing brake discs in the dark, and the razor-edge strategy of a top-tier team fighting for the podium in one of global motorsport’s most demanding endurance classics.
